Winter Survival Guide: How to Maintain Your BROBOT Rotary Mower

As the growing season ends and the temperature drops, it’s time to give your BROBOT SMW1503A the care it deserves. Proper winterization prevents rust, extends the machine's lifespan, and ensures that when spring arrives, you are ready to hit the ground running.

Follow this 5-step professional maintenance checklist to protect your investment.

1. Deep Cleaning

Before storage, remove all accumulated debris.

• The Underside: Dried grass and mud trap moisture against the steel deck, leading to rapid corrosion. Use a high-pressure washer to clean the blade area and the internal deck.

• Dry it Out: Ensure the machine is completely dry before moving to the next step to prevent trapping water under grease or paint.

2. Blade Inspection & Sharpening

Winter is the perfect time for blade "rehab."

• Check for Cracks: Inspect the heavy-duty blades for any stress fractures or severe chips. If damaged, replace them with original BROBOT spare parts.

• Sharpening: Sharpen the cutting edges to ensure a clean cut in the spring. Pro Tip: Balance the blades after sharpening to prevent vibration that can damage the gearbox.

3. Gearbox & Lubrication

The gearbox is the heart of your SMW1503A.

• Oil Check: Check the gear oil levels. If the oil looks milky, water has entered; change it immediately with high-quality gear lubricant.

• Grease Points: Apply fresh grease to all Zerk fittings, including the PTO shaft, wheel bearings, and pivot points. This "seals out" winter moisture and prevents parts from seizing.

4. Rust Prevention
